Ukraine Cuts USF Gas Reserves By 49% To 8.6 Billion Cubic Meters Since Heating Season Start

Since October 24, 2017 (the start of the current heating season), Ukraine has cut gas reserves in its underground gas storage facilities (USF) by 49% or 8,361.5 million cubic meters to 8,612.22 million cubic meters газа.

The Ukrtransgaz company, the operator of the Ukrainian gas transport system, has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The average daily gas consumption in March made 80.77 million cubic meters.

Since March 1, Ukraine has imported 371.051 million cubic meters of gas: 268.191 million cubic meters through the Slovak Republic, 64.079 million cubic meters through Hungary, and 38.777 million cubic meters through the Republic of Poland.

Since earlier March, Ukraine has produced 952.892 million cubic meters and transited 4,290.420 million cubic meters.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, On March 1, Gazprom's Deputy Board Chairman Alexander Medvedev said that the Russian company had decided to stop supplying natural gas to Naftogaz of Ukraine from March 1 and that it had returned the prepayment it received from Naftogaz of Ukraine.

Ukraine introduced a national action plan imposing a limit on consumption of natural gas until March 7.
