The European Commission has decided to allocate EUR 24 million of humanitarian aid to the victims of the conflict in Donbas.
Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement of the European Commission.
Funding comes as the European Commission and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs organize a high-level conference in Brussels to raise awareness of the humanitarian consequences of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
It is noted that the new EU funding will help meet the basic needs of the most vulnerable population groups in the contact line, including in areas controlled by non-governmental organizations.
The statement says that, thus, at present the EU has provided more than EUR 677 million since the beginning of the conflict in 2014.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Canada has decided to allocate to Ukraine about USD 8 million of humanitarian aid for the victims of the conflict in Donbas.
