The parliament has abolished the rule that requires vehicles entering Ukraine’s customs territory to have certificates of compliance with emission standards.
The relevant draft law (No. 5470-d) was approved by 235 votes, with only 226 votes required for its approval, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.
At the same time, such a certificate will be required “during customs clearance of vehicles for free circulation by domestic customs.”
Previously, new and used vehicles being imported into Ukraine for the purpose of free circulation were required to comply with emission standards not lower than "Euro 6" from January 1.
This rule did not apply to vehicles manufactured in Ukraine.
