Ukrainian filmmaker Oleh Sentsov, who is serving a 20-year jail sentence in Russia is not at the Labytnangi penal colony, where he was serving his sentence.
Sentsov's cousin Natalia Kaplan announced this on her Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Information has emerged that Oleh Sentsov is not at the IK-8 in the Labytnangi. This was stated in a response by the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN)," she wrote.
According to Kaplan, the duty officer at the penal colony refused to provide information about the location of Sentsov.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Petro Poroshenko announced in February that Ukraine was ready to exchange convicted Russian military servicemen for the Ukrinform national news agency's journalist Roman Suschenko, who is under arrest in Russia, and Sentsov.
