The total state debt (direct and indirect) of Ukraine in January decreased by 0.25% or USD 200 million to USD 76.11 billion (as at January 31, 2017) month over month.
The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The state and state-secured debt as at late January made UAH 2,131.85 billion or USD 76.11 billion over UAH 2,141.67 billion or USD 76.31 billion in the previous month.
The total size of the direct state debt as at January 31 made UAH 1,832.95 billion (USD 65.44 billion) over UAH 1,833.71 billion or USD 65.33 billion in the previous month.
At that direct foreign debt increased by USD 340 million to USD 38.83 billion, while direct domestic debt decreased by USD 8.02 billion to USD 745.37 billion (USD 26.61 billion).
As at January 31, the state-secured debt made UAH 298.90 billion or USD 10.67 billion.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2017, the state and state-secured debt of Ukraine rose in dollar equivalent by 7.5% or USD 5.33 billion to USD 76.31 billion.
In 2016, the total state debt of Ukraine rose from USD 65.51 to USD 70,97 billion.
