The Kyiv city council has changed the name of Moskovskyi Bridge for Northern Bridge.
With 61 votes required, 82 members of the Kyiv city council voted for the resolution, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The bridge was commissioned in 1976.
In 2015, the Kyiv city state administration held public hearings to change the name of the bridge. The options for the new name of the bridge included Georgy Fuks Bridge, Troyeschyna Bridge, and Stepan Bandera Bridge.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Khreshchatyk newspaper - the official paper of the Kyiv city council - published a resolution renaming Moskovskyi avenue into Stepana Bandery avenue on August 9, 2016.
The Kyiv city council adopted the resolution on July 7, 2016.
