Court Denies Yanukovych's Defense Repeat Interrogation Of Witness Poroshenko

The Obolonskyi District Court of Kyiv has denied the defense of former president Viktor Yanukovych a repeat interrogation of witness President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

Presiding judge Vladyslav Deviatko announced this during the trial of Yanukovych accused of high treason on February 22, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The lawyers of Yanukovych had filed a motion on a repeat interrogation of witness Poroshenko as they consider the interrogation of Poroshenko of February 21 as disrupted.

The judge said the defense was to blame for that.

"You gave the interrogation to the prosecution yesterday. Maybe this is your tactics for the defense," he said.

The judge decided to reject the motion for the repeat interrogation of President Poroshenko.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on February 21, the Obolonskyi District Court of Kyiv held an interrogation of President Poroshenko as a witness during the trial of Yanukovych.

The interrogation via video link had lasted for one hour before the judge decided to stop it because of the question from the defense of Yanukovych about President Poroshenko's vacation on the Maldives in January 2018.
