European Union Expects Ukraine To Exercise Rule Of Law Regarding Saakashvili

The European Union expects that the rule of law will be observed in the question of former president of Georgia and leader of the New Forces Movement party Mikheil Saakashvili, who was deported from Ukraine and accepted by Poland under a readmission agreement on February 12.

This is said in the response to Ukrainian News Agency's inquiry about the position of the European Union regarding the situation with Mikheil Saakashvili.

The European Union continues to follow the developments of the situation.

"We are expecting observation of the rule of law and rights of Mr. Saakashvili," reads the answer.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Mikheil Saakashvili, who was deported from Ukraine and accepted by Poland under a readmission agreement on February 12, says he will return to Ukraine and is looking for ways to do so legally.
