PGO Not To Close Case Against Saakashvili Suspected Of Assisting Criminal Organizations

The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) does not intend to close the criminal case against former president of Georgia / former chairperson of the Odesa Regional State Administration / leader of the New Forces Movement political party Mikheil Saakashvili suspected of assisting criminal organizations despite Saakashvili's extradition to the Republic of Poland.

Ukrainian News Agency learnt this from press secretary of Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko, Larysa Sarhan.

She said Saakashvili would be brought to criminal responsibility.

The former president of Georgia is suspected under Section 1 of Article 15, Section 2 of Article 28 and Section 2 of Article 256 of the Penal Code of Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Poland accepted Saakashvili within the framework of readmission.
