Ukrainian Law enforcers detained former member of the Ukrainian Parliament Oleksandr Shepelev near the city of Kyiv on February 8.
Ukrainian News agency learnt this from a well-informed source.
According to the statement written by press secretary of Yurii Lutsenko, Larysa Sarhan, on Facebook, Shepelev was detained by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
At the moment, Shepelev had a number of documents including the one saying that the former Ukrainian MP 'worked as an employee of so-called state security ministry of self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).'
The Main Military Prosecutor's Office is investigating a criminal case against him under Section 1 of Article 111 (high treason) of the Penal Code of Ukraine.

Ukrainian Law enforcers detained former member of the Ukrainian Parliament Oleksandr Shepelev near the city of Kyiv on February 8.
The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) summoned Shepelev for interrogation on November 13, 2017 within the case upon kidnapping, abuse of office, money laundering, illegal appropriation of a vehicle and murder.
In August 2016, Shepelev was released from a remand prison in the Russian Federation.
