Ukraine Climbs 18 Positions, Ranking 39 Among 115 Countries In Open Budget Index

Ukraine has climbed up 18 positions and ranked 39 among 115 countries in the Open Budget Index conducted by the International Budget Partnership.

Press service of the Ministry of Finance has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the Open Budget Index's rating, in 2017 Ukraine scored 54 of the maximum 100 scores, which is above the world average, which is 43 scores.

In 2015, Ukraine scored 46 of 100 points in the rating.

The improvement signals a positive dynamics indicating improvements in the budgetary process of Ukraine and efficiency of the E-Data project implemented by the Ministry of Finance.

The place scored by Ukraine ranks it among the countries of Eastern Europe, while it also confirms the goal of the Ministry of Finance to rank Ukraine among TOP-40 countries in terms of the budgetary transparence.

The Open Budget Index is the world rating of budgetary transparency that analyses budgets of 115 countries by independent experts once in two years.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine climbed 16 positions and ranked 150th among 180 countries in the global Index of Economic Freedom.
