PGO Intends To Issue International Search Alert For Editor-In-Chief Huzhva

The Prosecutor's General Office intends to seek issuing an international search alert for Editor-in-Chief of the Strana.ua online media Ihor Huzhva.

Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko said this at a briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the Prosecutor General, Huzhva shamefully fled Ukraine when the court was about to finish debates over his case.

"We will seek to change a restrictive measure and will put him on the domestic and international wanted list," Lutsenko said.

Lutsenko also said that Ukrainian prosecutor's office informed their colleagues from Austria about purely economic and criminal nature of the charges brought case against Huzhva, and not political as he wants it to present.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Huzhva expected him to be put on the Interpol's international wanted list.

Huzhva left Ukraine and asked for a political asylum in Austria.
