NACB Investigating MP Rizanenko For Possible Running Off-Shore Company

The National Anticorruption Bureau (NACB) investigates a possible involvement of Member of the Verkhovna Rada (the Petro Poroshenko's Bloc parliamentary faction) Pavlo Rizanenko in the running of an off-shore shell company.

The Ukrainian News Agency learnt this from materials of the Solomiyanskyi District Court of Kyiv.

In particular, a pre-trial investigation established that spouse of Rizanenko's mother was registered as a founder of the Luka Development company with the initial contribution to the company's registered capital worth UAH 13 million.

At the same time, his official compound income since 2012 has summed up to UAH 325,000.

This led the NACB to believe that Rizanenko could be an ultimate beneficiary owner and his mother's spouse only a nominally appointed holder of the contributions into the company's registered capital.

In addition, the NACB established among other founders of the Luka Development the LT Chezara company and the Livoberezhna Property company.

The LT Chezara is fully owned by the Kerilain company headquartered in the British Virgin Islands, while one of the founders of the Livoberezhna Property is Cyprus-based Bisabi Limited.

The NACB filed a request with the court to allow access to some data, which could confirm or disprove the suspicion that Rizanenko was in fact behind the actual management of the Luka Development, which he could exert both through the person with family ties to him and the affiliated companies.

The court upheld the NACB's request and granted access to registration documents of the LT Chezara kept in the Chernihiv City Council.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in July 2017, the Desnianskyi District Court of Kyiv suspended Rizanenko's driver's license for one year and fined him with UAH 10,200 for driving in a drunken state.
