Russia Grants Citizenship To 85,100 Ukrainians In 2017

Russia has granted citizenship to 85,100 Ukrainians in 2017.

Ukrainian News Agency learned this from an information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

During January-December, 85,119 Ukrainians obtained Russian citizenship.

Also for this period, a decision to issue 67,022 residence permits for Ukrainians (144,530 Ukrainians residing with residence permit) was made.

In addition, in 2017, Ukrainians received 96,612 temporary residence permits (201,631 Ukrainians residing with these permits).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2017, President Petro Poroshenko has granted a Ukrainian citizenship to 969 foreign citizens, of them most were from Syria (155 persons) and the Russian Federation (139 persons).
