503,300 Ukrainians Enter Russia For Work, 485,100 For Private Visit, 42,900 For Tourism And 28,100 For Study In 2017

503,300 Ukrainians entered Russia for work, 485,100 - for a private visit, 42,900 - for tourism and 28,100 - for study in 2017.

Ukrainian News Agency learned this from an information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

In particular, in 2017, Russia placed 1,792,247 Ukrainians on the migration registration, of which 188,369 people were registered at the place of residence and 1,603,878 people - registered at the place of temporary residence.

Thus, 1,117,430 people were registered at the place of temporary residence primarily.

Of these, 503,287 Ukrainians entered Russia for work, 485,051 for a private visit, 42,881 for tourism, 28,083 for study, and 58,128 Ukrainians - under other pretexts.

At the same time last year, Russia withdrew 1,075,853 Ukrainians from migration registration.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Russia granted citizenship to 85,100 Ukrainians in 2017.

In 2017, President Petro Poroshenko has granted a Ukrainian citizenship to 969 foreign citizens, of them most were from Syria (155 persons) and the Russian Federation (139 persons).
