Ukraine Has No Outstanding Liabilities On Decisions Of ECHR

The Justice Ministry says Ukraine does not have outstanding liabilities on decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.

First Deputy Minister Natalia Bernatska announced this at a press conference, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to her, Ukraine paid to Ukrainian citizens close to UAH 1.5 billion on decision of the European Court of Human Rights in 2014-2017.

The Justice Ministry intends to collect some sums paid to Ukrainian citizens following decisions of the European Court of Human Rights from enterprises whose actions caused violations of rights of citizens and legal entities.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Justice Ministry urges the Kyiv Economic Court to collect UAH 54 million from the Kyivenergo Company as compensation for sums paid by the State following decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.
