The police have detained several suspects suspected of involvement in the murder of former acting director of the Ukrspyrt State Enterprise Viktor Pankov and a number of other assassinations of businessmen in Kyiv.
Chairperson of the National Police Serhii Kniazev has said this in at a press conference, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In particular, Kniazev said that the police arrested five individuals suspected of committing several crimes, in particular, March 29 beating a businessman, May 1 triggering an explosion near one of high education establishments in Kyiv, an assassination attempt of another businessman on June 23 at Turhenivska street, and the murder of Pankov committed on May 30 in Darnytskyi district (Kyiv).
A criminal suspected of organizing the assassination was arrested in the territory of a neighboring state.
All the suspects were put in jail without a possibility of bail.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 30, former acting director of Ukrspyrt Viktor Pankov was gunned down not far from his house in Darnytskyi district (Kyiv).
