Hontareva Declares UAH 84 Million From Sale Of ICU Share

Chairperson of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeriya Hontareva has declared UAH 83.6 million of income from sale of its stake in the Investment Capital Ukraine (ICU) company.

This was said in a statement published on December 24 in the State Register of Declarations of State Officials, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Hontareva sold its stake in the ICU to business partners Makar Paseniuk and Kostiantyn Stetsenko in 2014 immediately following her appointment to a state post.

According to the sale conditions, in 2014 she received UAH 24.3 million in the first installment, in 2015 - UAH 23.5 million in the second installment, and in 2016 - UAH 52.6 million in the third installment.

Now the NBU Chair declared additional UAH 83.6 million of income from the sale of shares.

Including this last amount, she received the total of UAH 184 million from the sale.

In October 2015, one of ICU co-owners Makar Paseniuk said that the payment for shares to Hontareva was designed to be done in several installments over five years.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, NBU's Chairperson Valeriya Hontareva had been on vacation since May following her resignation letter that is still pending approval of the President and the Verkhovna Rada.
