TCG Agrees Ceasefire From December 23

Donbas, ceasefire, TCG, Belarua

The Trilateral Contact Group on resolution of the conflict in Donbas (Ukraine, Russia, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) has reached agreement on a ceasefire from December 23.

Daria Olifer, the spokeswoman for former (1994-2005) president Leonid Kuchma, who represents Ukraine in the Trilateral Contact Group, announced this on her Facebook page, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Earlier, Ukraine's representative in the Trilateral Contact Group's security subgroup Yevhen Marchuk noted that six weeks of silence was achieved during the winter last year.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Marchuk has said that he considers it impossible to secure "regime of silence" following the withdrawal of Russia's representatives from the Joint Center on Control and Coordination of issues related to the ceasefire regime and the stabilization of the situation on the line of contact in Donbas (JCCC).
