Appeal Court Quashes Arrest Of Property Of Interior Minister Avakov's Son Oleksandr

On December 19, the Kyiv Court of Appeal overruled a decision of the previous jurisdiction, the Solomiyanskyi District Court of Kyiv, on the arrest of real estate property of Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov's son Oleksandr charged with state funds embezzlement during procurement of military backpacks for the National Guard.

The Ukrainian News learnt this from Avakov son's lawyer Andrii Tarasov.

The lawyer also said that in its ruling the Kyiv Court of Appeal returned the materials of the case back to the previous court to correct procedural inaccuracies.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Solomiyanskyi District Court of Kyiv arrested the property (two apartments) of the Interior Minister Avakov's son and former deputy minister of internal affairs Serhii Chebotar.
