The State Border Guard Service (SBGS) has banned entry to Ukraine for three years to a Russian military representative at the Joint Center for Coordination and Control of Ceasefire and Settlement of the Conflict in Donbas (JCCC) over his illegal trip to the Russian-annexed Crimea.
Spokesperson of the State Borger Guard Service Oleh Slobodian wrote this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In particular, Slobodian said that in the evening on December 19 Russian officers, former representatives at the JCCC, left Ukraine.
"During processing of their documents at the Hoptivka checkpoint (Kharkiv region) it was discovered that a lieutenant colonel, one of the representatives, made a trip to the Russian-annexed Crimea through the checkpoints closed by the government of Ukraine. In the interview he confirmed that he had entered Crimea through the temporarily closed checkpoint Simferopol in 2017," Slobodian said.
On the grounds of the Ukrainian legislation, the border guards banned the military from entering Ukraine for three years.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Russia recalled all its military representatives from the JCCC (Ukraine - Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe - Russia) on settlement the conflict and monitoring a ceasefire.
Representative of Ukraine in a subgroup on security matters at the JCCC Yevhen Marchuk considered it would be impossible to uphold the ceasefire in Donbas occupied by Russian proxies after Russia had recalled its representatives at the JCCC.
