NPLs Volume In Banks To Reduce To 45-50% Before 2019

The Moody's international rating agency expects the volume of the non-performing loans (NPLs) in the Ukrainian banks to reduce to 45-50% by the end of 2018.

The Moody's has said this in its new outlook the wording of which the Ukrainian News possesses.

In particular, in its report the Moody's stated that the economy of Ukraine resumed the growth but remained frugal under the continuous political and military tension.

The Moody's expected reduction of the NPLs share to 45-50% in the overall loan volume in the banks by 2019.

According to the agency, bank reserves were restored thanks to the recent capital injections and the nationalization of PrivatBank.

The agency concluded that the financial climate in Ukraine continued to improve facilitated with the growth of hryvnia deposits.

However, the Moody's noted that the access of the banks to capital markets remained very limited.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the share of NPLs in banks currently amounts to 55.75%.
