NBU Raises Discount Rate From 13.5% To 14.5%

The National Bank of Ukraine has raised the discount rate from 13.5% to 14.5%.

the central bank has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In the last two months, the rates of consumer inflation have decreased, however, much slower than the NBU expected.

In November 2017, it was 13.6% per annum.

The next meeting of the monetary committee will take place in January 2018.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, since March 4, 2015, the NBU has raised the discount rate from 19.5% to 30%.

Then, the NBU several times retained the discount rate at 30%.

On August 28, 2015, the central bank lowered the discount rate to 27% and on September 25, 2015 to 22%.
