The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) states that the Russian Federation conducts a well-organized work aimed at rigging elections in 2019 in Ukraine.
Deputy Chairperson of the SBU Viktor Kononenko said this at a security press conference, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to Kononenko, Russia had temporarily shifted its focus from military meddling to the attempts to destabilize Ukraine from inside.
Kononenko said the SBU was taking adequate measures to thwart the Russian destabilization plans.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the SBU detained a citizen of Lviv region on suspicion of organizing public protests at the direction of Russian special services.
