Foreign Ministry Protesting Against Russian Court Extending Arrest Of Ukrainian Journalist Suschenko For 2 Months

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs protests against the Moscow City Court (the Russian Federation) prolonging an arrest of journalist of the Ukrinform national news agency Roman Suschenko for other two months, demands his immediate release.

Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson Mariyana Betsa wrote this on Twitter, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the mass media, Suschenko's arrest was prolonged until January 13, 2018.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 30, 2016, Suschenko was detained by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) on suspicion of espionage.

The FSB calls Suschenko a staff member of the Main Administration of the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The intelligence of the Ministry of Defense refutes that Suschenko ever had a military training.

The Ukrinform denounced the arrest of its staff reporter Suschenko as a provocation.
