The Estonian airline Nordica intends to launch flights from Tallinn to the Kyiv (Zhuliany) International Airport from April 26, 2018.

The airport announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Currently, Nordica performs daily flights between Tallinn and the Boryspil international airport (Kyiv region).

Flights to the Kyiv airport will be performed three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with a flight from Kyiv to Tallinn at 06:05 a.m. and on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from Tallinn to Kyiv with a flight at 10:40 p.m. local time.

"Our passengers will be interested in the opening of a new direction in Northern Europe, in addition, Tallinn is a large passenger and cargo seaport - only 80 kilometers and you are already in Helsinki," Director General of the Master-Avia company Oleksii Yakovets said.

According to Nordica, the volume of passenger traffic between Ukraine and the countries-members of the European Union is increasing as a result of the visa-free regime that entered into force this summer and positive shifts in the Ukrainian economy.

The Estonian airline strives to provide its Ukrainian customers with convenient flight times to Tallinn and further to the countries of Scandinavia and Central Europe, as well as to Russia.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in October 2017 compared to October 2016, the Kyiv (Zhuliany) International Airport increased passenger traffic by 72.4% to 174,300 passengers.

In 2016, the Kyiv airport increased passenger traffic by 19.4% to 1,127,500 passengers compared to 2015.

The Kyiv International Airport (Zhuliany) is located 8 kilometers from the center of the Ukraine's capital and occupies the area of 265 hectares.

It has one runway with the length of 2,310 meter and width of 45 meters.
