SBU Suspects Journalist Muravytskyi Of Preparing Negative Publications Against Government And Army

The Security Service of Ukraine suspects blogger/journalist Vasyl Muravytskyi of preparing negative publications against the government and the army of Ukraine.

This is said in the notice of suspicion, the wording of which was made available to Ukrainian News Agency.

He is also suspected of preparing articles justifying annexation of Crimea by Russia and creation of terrorist organizations Donetsk's People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic.

According to the investigation, Muravytskyi also spread ideas of necessity of illegal transfer of some territories of Ukraine to Poland and Romania.

Muravytskyi is also suspected of work against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, information security of Ukraine. In 2014-2016, he provided assistance to the Russia Today information agency and some citizens of Russia in their subversive activities against Ukraine. He created and spread in the Internet publications containing elements of manipulation of public opinion and aiming at fueling ethnic hostility and hate.

Muravytskyi is suspected of committing a number of crimes.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in September 2017, the Security Service of Ukraine sent the treason charges against blogger/journalist Vasyl Muravytskyi to court.

The Korolyvskyi District Court of Zhytomyr authorized detention of Muravytskyi without bail on August 2 on suspicion of committing treason through dissemination of anti-Ukrainian materials on the internet.

Reporters Without Borders, an international organization that defends freedom of the press, has called on Ukraine to release Muravytskyi.
