Minister of the Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov has written a book entitled Is Lenin Still With Us? Avakov wrote this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports. "Today on the 100th anniversary of what we formerly called the great October socialist revolution I want to introduce my book... The purpose of this book is to inspire a discussion, as I think our society needs to conduct wide public debates over a role and place in our history of the communism project and Lenin as its symbol," Avakov wrote. The minister named among the co-authors Minister of Youth and Sports Ihor Zhdanov, Chairperson of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance Volodymyr Viyatrovych, Director of the Kharkiv Human Rights Group Yevhen Zakharov, Member of the Verkhovna Rada Mykola Kniazhytskyi (the People's Front parliamentary faction) and journalist Vitalii Portnikov. The book was published in the Ukrainian, Russian and English languages. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Tuesday, the Verkhovna Rada refused to fire Interior Minister Avakov.
