The Poultry Union association announces that consumer prices for eggs in the domestic market of the country may increase to UAH 27-29 per 10 eggs by the end of this year. The head of the Association Serhii Karpenko announced this to Ukrainian News Agency. "We forecast that selling prices from enterprises may still increase by 7-8% by the end of the year... Several factors will influence this, the main one of which will be the ability to ensure consistently high export deliveries. In the case of such an increase, consumer prices will rise to UAH 27-29 per 10 eggs", the expert said. He noted that prices will remain at a fairly high level until the spring. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Poultry Union association forecasted a seasonal increase in egg prices in September. The Association has repeatedly stated that the Ukrainian egg market is characterized by seasonal fluctuations. In 2017, there is an increase in exports compared with the past while maintaining production. From August 10 to September 11, the weighted average prices for eggs increased by 63.8% or UAH 6.98 to UAH 17.92 per 10 eggs, by October 10 they rose by another 13.45% or UAH 2.4 up to UAH 20.33 for 10 eggs. From October 10 to October 30 prices rose by 15% to UAH 23.43 per 10 eggs. As of the beginning of the current year (January 10), the average weighted prices for eggs in the domestic market of the country were at the level of UAH 20.95 per 10 eggs.
