The State Border Guard Service (SBGS) has strengthened border control at all checkpoints of the state border.
Press service of the SBGS said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the report, the service received relevant instructions from the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
The enhanced measures mean that border guards will conduct personal examination of all suspicious-looking individuals and that employees of the border guard service will engage officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to inspect all without exception motor vehicles of such individuals.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 31, Chairperson of the NSDC Oleksandr Turchynov announced intention to step up security measures at the border with Russia given the recent increased number of terrorist attacks, subversives and murders.
