The National Anticorruption Bureau (NACB) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutors Office (SACPO) detained Oleksandr Avakov, son of Minister of the Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, on suspicion of embezzlement of money during procurement of backpacks for the National Guard by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Ukrainian News Agency has learnt this from a well-informed source.
The source reported that Avakov's son was served with court papers, charged under Article 191 (embezzlement) of the Penal Code.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the NACB on Tuesday, October 31, conducted a search at the premise of Avakov's son in Kharkiv.
