The Kyiv city state administration intends to spend UAH 150,000 on organizing the celebration of New Year and Christmas holidays on Sofiyska and Mykhailivska Squares. Director of the department of culture of Kyiv city state administration Diana Popova announced this to Ukrainian News Agency. The amount of UAH 150,000 is laid in the budget of Kyiv for 2017. Earlier, a contest was held for the best project for the organization of New Year and Christmas holidays, for the implementation of which the financial support of the Kyiv city state administration is expected. The winner of the contest was the Initsiatyvy Stolychni [Capital Initiatives] association of citizens, whose president is Ihor Dobrutskyi. According to the estimate, the financing will be directed to payment for installation of the stage, sound portals and technical zone, the rest will be borne by the organization. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Folk Ukraine non-government social-cultural project intends to deliver a Christmas tree from Ivano-Frankivsk region to be mounted at Sofiivska square (Kyiv) on December 3. The Kyiv city state administration decided to hold New Year and Christmas holidays from December 16 to January 14, 2018.
