Deputy Chairpersons of Mejlis of Crimean Tatars Ilmi Umerov and Ahtem Chiygoz arrived to the Boryspil International Airport (Kyiv region). A video featuring Umerov and Chiygoz being welcomed by representatives of Mejlis in the Boryspil Airport appeared on Facebook posted by First Deputy Information Policy Minister Emine Dzheppar, Ukrainian News Agency reports. On Thursday, at 2:15 p.m., there was a press conference of Umerov and Chiygoz planned at the D terminal of the Boryspil Airport. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 25, Ciygoz and Umerov were released from criminal persecution and transferred to the Republic of Turkey following negotiations between President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin. On September 11, a court in Russia sentenced Ciygoz to eight years in high-security prison. Ciygoz was arrested by the Russian Investigative Committee in early 2015 and charged with organization of mass riots in the Russia-annexed Crimea. On September 27, the Russian court in Crimea sentenced Umerov to two years in penal colony settlement. Umerov was arrested by Federal Security Service of Russia in Crimea in May 2016 and was later sent for a compulsory psychiatric examination to a hospital.
