Prosecutor's Office Considering Russian Special Services Or Political Rivals Behind Assassination Attempt On MP Mosiichuk As 2 Main Versions Of Investigation

The prosecutor's office of Kyiv considers involvement of special services of the Russian Federation or political opponents of MP Ihor Mosiichuk (the Radical Party of Oleh Liashko parliamentary faction) in Mosiichuk's recent assassination, as two of three main versions.

Deputy Prosecutor of Kyiv Pavlo Kononenko said this at a briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to Kononenko, the third main version includes personal grievances against Mosiichuk.

The investigation also considers a version that there could be other targets than Mosiichuk, including journalists.

The investigation already established that a hand-made explosive device was set up on the base of a motor car alarm system.

The device had the explosive capacity of 400-600 gm in TNT equivalent.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Chairperson of the Radical Party political party and parliamentary faction Oleh Liashko considered that the assassination attempt on member of his political party could have been organized by political rivals.

Former employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Mykhailo Mormil (36 years old) and bodyguard of MP Mosiichuk, policeman Ruslan Kushnyruk (31 years old) died from injuries received as a result of explosion in Solomiyanskyi district in Kyiv.
