Kyiv City Council Renames Internatsionalna Square As Valeriya Marchenka Square

The Kyiv City Council has renamed Internatsionalna Square into Valeriya Marchenka Square.

A total of 78 members of the city council voted for the adoption of the relevant draft decision with minimum required 61, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Valerii Marchenko was a dissident, literature studies expert and translator.

According to the results of public debate, 87% of participants supported the proposition.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in June, the Kyiv City Council renamed Henerala Mykolaya Vatutina Avenue into Romana Shukhevycha Avenue.
