Russian Court Arrests In Absentia, Puts On Wanted List MP Parasiuk, Member Of Kyiv Council Nazarenko

The court in the Russian Federation arrested in absentia and put on wanted list Member of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Parasiuk (non-affiliated) and Member of the Kyiv City Council Volodymyr Nazarenko (the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Association).

Press service of the Russian Investigative Committee has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee investigates criminal cases on attacks on Russian diplomatic facilities located in the territory of Ukraine in the period 2014-2016.

The investigation established involvement of Volodymyr Romantsov, Oleksii Bakai and Volodymyr Nazarenko (all Ukrainian citizens) in a 2014 attack on Russian Embassy in Kyiv accusing them of destroying property of the Russian diplomatic mission and besmirching Russian flag.

Russian court also accuses MP Parasiuk of an assault on the Russian General Consulate in Lviv and insulting a flag.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in March 2016, Parasiuk, during a public protest against detention of then-held in Russian jail Member of the Verkhovna Rada Nadiya Savchenko, pulled down a flag from Russian Consulate building in Lviv.
