Education and Science Minister of Ukraine Liliya Hrynevych and Ambassador of Poland to Ukraine Jan Peklo have agreed to hold in Lviv a roundtable with representatives of the Polish community to discuss the language provision of the law on education.
The press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The statement reads that the roundtable will take place on October 26.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine was the initiator of the roundtable.
According to the statement, Ambassador Peklo thanked the ministry for the initiative and supported it.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Minister Liliya Hrynevych discussed the language provision of the law of Ukraine on education with Secretary General of the European Council Thorbjorn Jagland on October 6.
Hungarian Ambassador to Ukraine Erno Keskeny is confident that the Council of Europe's European Commission for Democracy through Law (the Venice Commission) will uncover violations in the language provisions of Ukraine's new education law.
Foreign Affairs Minister Pavlo Klimkin sent the education law to the Venice Commission On September 28.
