The National Bank of Ukraine states that PrivatBank must dispose of assets that do not directly correspond to the type of activity the bank is engaged in: the Bukovel skiing resort (Ivano-Frankivsk region), the building occupied by the 1+1 TV-channel and aircrafts of the Ukraine International Airlines airline company (UIA, Kyiv).

Deputy Chair of the National Bank of Ukraine Kateryna Rozhkova said this on the air of Radio Vesti on October 7, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In particular, Rozhkova referred to the aforesaid assets as uncharacteristic to the type of activity the bank is directly engaged in and therefore, she said, the bank was unable to manage the assets efficiently.

After evaluation and conducting an inventory of the assets, Rozhkova said, the bank would most likely decide to dispose of them at an auction held at either ProZorro or CETAM systems of electronic procurements.

Rozhkova also said neither the UIA itself nor the Ukrnafta major oil production company were collaterals under the loans.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in July, former senior executive of PrivatBank Oleksandr Shlapak said that bank owned one third of the Bukovel skiing resort.

In 2016, Bukovel was taken on the balance of PrivatBank as a collateral worth UAH 11 billion.

In September, the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv arrested a plant of the Biola soft drinks production company (Dnipro), a building rented by the 1+1 TV-channel and a Boeing jet, under an embezzlement case from PrivatBank.
