The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has ratified the protocols Nos. 15 and 16 to the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms that touch reduction of the term for submission of appeal to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
A total of 265 parliamentary members backed respective bill No. 0159 in principle, when 226 votes enough to pass the decision, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The said protocols were signed by Ukraine on June 20, 2014.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the ECHR is considering 4,000 appeals from Ukrainian citizens touching events in the Russia-annexed Crimea and Donbas.
