Poroshenko Appoints Klitschko, UEFA's Vice President Surkis Deputy Chairpersons Of Organizational Committee For Preparation, Carrying Out 2018 Champions League Finals

President Petro Poroshenko has appointed Mayor of Kyiv / Chairperson of the Kyiv City State Administration Vitalii Klitschko and Vice President of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Hryhorii Surkis to be deputy chairpersons of the organizational committee for preparation and holding in Ukraine the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Women's Champions League finals in 2018.

This is said in the Presidential Decree No.301 dated September 30, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In addition, by his Decree, Poroshenko appointed to the organizational committee Chairperson of the State Border Guard Service Petro Tsyhykal, Acting Chairperson of the State Fiscal Service Myroslav Prodan, Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian and Deputy Chairperson of the Presidential Administration Kostiantyn Yelyseiev.

The rest of the committee's composition remained the same, totaling 20 members.

The committee is chaired by Chairperson of the Presidential Administration Ihor Rainin.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in September, the UEFA picked Kyiv to host the finals of the UEFA Champions League at its Olympic National Sports Complex (Kyiv) in 2018.

The final contest will be held on May 26, 2018.
