The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has received a request to debate Ukraine's new education law during its session scheduled for the period of October 9-13.
The Council of Europe's public relations officer Tatiana Baeva announced this to Ukrainian News Agency.
"There is a request for an urgent debate on the topic 'The New Ukrainian Law on Education: A Serious Obstacle to the Teaching of the Native Languages of National Minorities,'" she said.
According to Baeva, PACE will adopt the final agenda of the opening day of its session on October 9.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Petro Poroshenko will address a session of PACE on October 11.
