Inspection, Removal Explosive Objects From Areas Affected By Fire At Ammunition Depot In Vinnytsia Region Will Be Completed By December

Full inspection and removal of explosive objects from the territory affected by the fire at the Defense Ministry's ammunition depot near Kalynivka (Vinnytsia region) will last until the end of November.

Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman announced this to journalists, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"We will need about two months to inspect 10,000 hectares. The nearby territories have already been inspected and cleared of explosive objects. The work will continue until the end of November, possibly earlier. We will cover every centimeter of the entire 10,000 hectares," Groysman said.

In addition, according to Groysman, the efficiency of use of the funds that were allocated for financing all the necessary activities related to the extinguishing of the fire at the ammunition depot will be examined after completion of the activities.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, sappers completed the clearing of explosive objects from population centers near the Ministry of Defense's ammunition depot in Kalynivka on September 28.

A fire broke out at the Ministry of Defense's ammunition depot in Kalynivka at around 22:00 on September 26.

The Military Prosecutor's Office has launched a criminal investigation into the explosions at the ammunition depot on suspicion of sabotage.

The State Emergency Service has confirmed that two people were injured as a result of explosions at the ammunition depot.
