Leonid Bohdanov, former director of the Judicial Information Systems state enterprise (2013-2014) suspected of embezzlement of UAH 6.4 million, has been freed from custody as 72-hour period for arrest has expired.
Serhii Horbatiuk, the head of the department for special investigations of the Prosecutor General's Office, announced this to Ukrainian News Agency.
"He was freed today at 4 a.m. 72 hours after the moment of arrest," he said.
According to Horbatiuk, on September 25, the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv failed to select a measure of preventive punishment for Bohdanov, as his lawyers had given a number of motions, including a motion to recuse the judge.
The court postponed the consideration of the issue until Tuesday.
Horbatiuk said prosecutors did not know where Bohdanov was at that moment.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, law enforcement agencies held Bohdan at the state border with Russia on September 23.
