Omelian Sues UIA To Protect His Honor And Dignity

Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelian has lodged a lawsuit against Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) to protect his honor and dignity.

The Minister announced this to a press conference in Kyiv, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The lawsuit has been lodged and I hope it will be considered soon," he said.

He branded actions of UIA as dishonest and having nothing to do with honest competition.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in July, Minister Omelian said Ukraine International Airlines had filed lawsuits against the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Lviv international airport, and the Ryanair low-cost airline, asking a court to order them to stop illegal activities and pay UAH 20.05 million as compensation for losses incurred by Ukraine International Airlines as a result of its need to lower prices of tickets for its own flights in response to its competitor's low ticket prices.
