World Bank, IMF Unsatisfied With Updated Draft Pension Reform

The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are not satisfied with the updated draft pension reform.

World Bank Country Director for Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine Satu Kahkonen said this during the Ukrainian Financial Forum 2017 organized by Kyiv-based Investment Capital Ukraine (ICU) investment company, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

She said the World Bank and the IMF have sent a letter with their remarks to the Ukrainian Government.

Particular concerns were entailed by an update touching the start of pension indexation under new formula only from 2022, while the previously it was envisioned to start it in 2019.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman insists that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopt the pension reform on October 3.
