PGO Investigating NACB's Illegal Bugging Of Employees Of Defense Ministry, National Police, SBU, Foreign Intelligence In 2016

The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine is investigating fact of illegal bugging by officials of the National Anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine (NACB) in 2016 of employees of the Main Intelligence Department of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Guard Service, the State Affairs Department, the National Police, the State Fiscal Service, deputy ministers, judges, and other civil servants.

Larysa Sarhan, press secretary for Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko, wrote this on her Facebook page, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The Prosecutor General's Office has established that officials of the NACB were bugging 114 phones of civil servants in 2016 without permissions from investigative judges.

Witnesses in the case have been interrogated.

The investigation continues.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the NACB has refuted a statement by Yurii Lutsenko about illegal bugging of phones of 150 citizens, including body guards of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
