Crimea's Prosecutor's Office Opens Criminal Proceeding Over Holding Election For Governor Of Sevastopol In Crimea

The Prosecutor's Office of Crimea has opened a criminal proceeding over holding an election for the so-called governor of Sevastopol in the Russia-annexed Crimea on September 10.

Press service of the prosecutor's office has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The proceeding was opened under Section 1, Article 110 (attempt to violate territorial integrity, sovereignty of Ukraine), Section 1, Article 111 (high treason) and Section 1, Article 332-1 (violating entry/exit order to/from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine) of the Penal Code.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the spokesperson of the European Foreign Relations Department said that the European Union did not recognize the so-called election of Sevastopol governor conducted by Russia in the annexed by it Crimea.
