The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has put former Kyiv city mayor Leonid Chernovetskyi on wanted list. Ukrainian News agency learnt this from the data posted on the official website of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Ukraine in the list of wanted persons. According to the report, the ex-mayor is wanted as a person escaping prosecutor's office bodies. The date of his disappearance was July 24, 2017, the place of disappearance is unknown. Chernovetskyi is suspected under Section 2 of Article 364 (abuse of office) of the Penal Code of Ukraine. A court has permitted detention of the suspect. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 14, the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) served Chernovetskyi with charge papers. According to the report, Chernovetskyi's illegal actions in interests of yet unknown persons from the circle of former president Viktor Yanukovych are withdrawal, designated purpose alteration and letting of particularly valuable lands for construction of a helipad.
