In August 2017, consumer prices fell by 0.1%.
The State Statistics Service has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
At the same time, in August, foodstuff and non-alcoholic drinks prices fell by 0.6%, prices for clothes and footwear decreased by 2.4%, cost of housing-public utility services rose by 0.3%, health care services rose in cost by 0.2% and cost of education rose by 0.1%.
Inflation in the first eight months of 2017 made 8.1%.
In August 2017, consumer prices rose by 16.2% over August 2016.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in July 2017, consumer prices rose by 0.2%, inflation in the first seven months of 2017 made 8.2%.
In 2016, inflation was 12.4%, 43.3% in 2015, 24.9% in 2014, 0.5% in 2013 and in 2012 the deflation was 0.2%.
On May 31, the Cabinet of Ministers lowered its GDP growth forecast from 3% to 1.8% for 2017.
Initially the state budget for 2017 provided for the inflation growth of 8.1%.
