The Cabinet of Ministers has decided not to appoint Nataliya Sholoiko as the State Secretary for the Ministry of Health.

Deputy Prime Minister Pavlo Rozenko announced this to Ukrainian News Agency.

"It was considered. The relevant agencies provided information about the results of a special check and the existing conflict of interests. The decision not to appoint her as the State Secretary for the Ministry of Health was based on these materials," Rozenko said.

Rozenko added that a new competition would be announced.

Sholoiko is currently the deputy director for registration and pharmacological oversight at the State Expertise Center, which is a state enterprise.

Sholoiko was born on March 22, 1962. She graduated from the M. V. Hohol Nizhyn State Pedagogical Institute and the Kharkiv Academy of Pharmacy.

She later worked as a chemistry and biology teacher, a researcher, and the head of a pharmaceutical department.

She became the director of the Pharmacy Museum company in Kyiv in July 2010.

She was also an associate professor at the O. O. Bohomolets National Medical University's department of organization and economics of pharmacy.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Competition Commission for selecting Senior Civil Servants selected Sholoiko as the winner of the competition for the post of state secretary for the Ministry of Health in 2016.

Acting Minister of Health Uliyana Suprun opposed appointment of Sholoiko as the state secretary for the Ministry of Health.
